We integrate cutting-edge renewable energy systems with ecological conservation to build climate-resilient communities. Our projects span biodiverse coastal regions, partnering with governments, NGOs, and local stakeholders to deliver sustainable solutions.

Core Values: Innovation, Environmental Stewardship, Interdisciplinary Collaboration, Community Empowerment.

Role Overview

We seek a visionary Water Researcher (PhD) to lead R&D initiatives in solar desalination technology with a focus on marine and seaside biodiversity restoration. You will design and optimize eco-friendly desalination systems, assess their ecological impacts, and drive innovations that align water production with ecosystem recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ecological Impact Assessment:
    • Collaborate with marine biologists to monitor biodiversity outcomes (e.g., coral health, mangrove survival, sediment salinity).
    • Design mitigation strategies for brine discharge and resource extraction impacts.
  2. Fieldwork & Pilot Projects:
    • Lead pilot deployments in water-scarce coastal zones, ensuring minimal ecological footprint.
    • Collect and analyze environmental data (water quality, soil health, species diversity).
  3. Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
    • Partner with engineers, data scientists, and social scientists to co-design community-integrated solutions.
    • Publish findings in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.
  4. Grant Writing & Funding:
    • Secure grants from environmental agencies (e.g., UNEP, World Bank) to scale projects.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Environmental Engineering, Marine Science, Hydrology, or related field with a focus on desalination/water treatment.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Proven experience in solar desalination technologies (e.g., MD, RO, solar stills).
    • Strong background in ecological impact assessment and marine biodiversity metrics.
    • Proficiency in modeling tools (e.g., GIS, MATLAB) and data analysis (Python/R).
  • Fieldwork Experience:
    • Hands-on experience in coastal/marine ecosystems, brine management, or pilot-scale deployments.
  • Publications: Track record of peer-reviewed research in desalination, ecology, or renewable energy.
  • Leadership: Ability to mentor junior researchers and manage cross-functional teams.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of international environmental regulations (e.g., UN SDGs, Ramsar Convention).
  • Experience with community engagement or participatory research methods.
  • Language skills (e.g., Arabic, Spanish) for fieldwork in target regions.

Why Join Us?

  • Impact: Directly contribute to reversing biodiversity loss in water-scarce regions.
  • Innovation: Access to state-of-the-art labs and pilot sites for groundbreaking research.
  • Global Network: Collaborate with leading universities, NGOs, and policymakers.
  • Fieldwork: Travel to biodiverse coastal zones (e.g., Red Sea, Gulf of California).
